- During operation, simply place the sample into the outer tube, then insert the inner insert tube into the outer tube and press down, so that the filtrate passes through the filter membrane from bottom to top into the column core.Air is expelled through the small hole on top until the locking ring seals the entire device. When the two parts are combined, the dimensions are compatible with autosamplers.
